 Staff/Project Geologist Position in Wisconsin

KPRG’s Staff geologist/hydrogeologists are teamed within a project to apply their geological education to environmental tasks within the private sector. Many tasks are specific and learned on the job however, fundamental geological education as a basis for this consultant opportunity. This position has a blend of both field and office work. Typically, this position will perform geologic logging, soil classification, environmental sampling monitoring well installation, well slug-testing, soil, soil gas and groundwater sampling, are common field assignments. This includes preparation of environmental and hydrogeologic reports, figures and tables in conformance with project objectives and scope. 

He or she is expected to coordinate all activities with the project manager and team including;

• Perform field explorations, soil logging, soil sampling and groundwater sampling,
• Coordinate with Project Manager for detailed field assignments,
• Prepare routine reports including regulatory groundwater reporting,
• Provide documentation for remedial monitoring equipment
• 40-hour Haz-whopper OSHA 1910.120 Safety training a plus.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Earth Science with coursework.
• 0 to 5 years of experience
• Enjoys working in both outdoor and indoor settings
• Familiarity with various environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, vapor) sampling
• A team player that is also comfortable working independently in the field.
• Experience with topographic maps and groundwater flow net development
• Familiarity with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments a plus
• OSHA 40-Hr HAZWOPR Training a plus
